What a year it has been! We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating our 60th anniversary with you all and are still revelling in the joy of such memorable concerts! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us so far, it’s been an absolute pleasure to share beautiful music with such an appreciative audience. We’re taking a short break for the summer, but we’ll be back in the rehearsal room soon, preparing some new repertoire for the autumn season.

We’re excited to announce that we will be performing two concerts in Swansea this Autumn. We will be performing Songs of Peace on 16 November at 5pm in All Saints Church in Oystermouth. The programme includes music by Charles Hubert Parry, Edward Elgar, and Eric Whitacre as well as a special performance of Will Todd’s Songs of Peace, a six-movement work for choir and piano about love and loss. We’re particularly excited to be welcoming pianist Alex Jenkins for this concert. Alex is our regular pianist for rehearsals, so we are thrilled to be sharing the stage with him once more and hearing him play.
Our Christmas concert will take place at St Gabriel’s Church, Brynmill on 14 December at 5pm. O Magnum Mysterium will include performances of Come to Me by Antognini and Trotta’s setting of O Magnum Mysterium, as well as plenty of congregational carols to get you in the festive spirit. This Christmas, we are delighted to be performing a piece by one of our own members of the bass section. If you have been able to join us at the Gower Festival in the past two years, you may have heard us sing some Welsh folk tunes set to music by Richard Whitehead. In December, we will be performing another piece by Richard – a setting of I Sing of a Maiden. You may have heard us sing versions of this 15th century poem in the past but this will be the first time we have sung Richard’s setting so it’s going to be a particular festive treat!
