Our latest concert "Lay a Garland", was performed on Saturday 1st July 2023 at St Teilo's, Llandeilo to a sizeable and appreciative audience. We were very happy to return to Llandeilo and sing in the warm
acoustic of the church there. This was followed by a reception and the choir and supporters were able to enjoy supper and socialising in the house and grounds of Glansevin Mansion.
Greg Hallam, conductor of the choir, announced that Elin Manahan Thomas has agreed to be our Music
Patron. This was hot off the press news, so sadly, she was not able to be present then, but we hope she will be able to come to our events in the next season. Elin was a member of the choir, studied under our President, John Hugh Thomas, and we are proud to have the association.
At the reception we also announced a rethinking of our Supporter schemes. These will be on the website as soon as we have finished refining the details. Broadly though, we welcome donations from our
close followers which help support the financial demands of the choir, particularly in these rather straightened times. Those are our Supporters.
The Contributing Friends are longstanding friends of the choir and make a small regular donation. Our Friends who subscribe to our mailing list, will be invited to make one-off donations, but most
importantly will hear of our concerts and events and attend them, we hope.
Swansea Bach Choir does love to sing to an audience, and what a treat it was to have a capacity audience at St Teilo's.
